Canadian filmmakers were out in force at yesterday’s Toronto International Film Festival press conference to announce this year’s line-up of Canadian features, shorts and documentaries. Directors Sarah Polley (Take This Waltz), David Cronenberg (A Dangerous Mind) and Ken Scott (Starbuck) each receive the gala treatment while Mike Clattenburg (Afghan Luke), Robert Lieberman (Breakaway), Mary Harron (The Moth Diaries) and Guy Maddin (Keyhole) are among those premiering new films at the festival. Prizes for best Canadian feature film, best Canadian first feature and best Canadian short film will be handed out September 18. TIFF runs at the TIFF Bell Lightbox from September 8 – 18.
