The Borough Most Thorough 2010 was an urban music program for youth in under-served Scarborough neighbourhoods. Over the course of the summer program, more than 60 youth from 6 neighbourhoods took part in workshops and recorded 17 tracks for a compilation CD. During each week of the workshop, youth participants at each location collaborated with Beatz to da Streetz to create a track.
Upon completion of the program, each participant received 10 copies of the compilation CD with original custom artwork. All design work, including the promotion poster and CD cover, was designed by local youth from East Metro Youth Services social enterprise program.
The Borough Most Thorough 2010 culminated in an album launch as part of the Subtext Multi-Arts Festival on September 11 at the Lawrence Avenue East Bridge. More info (including videos and photos) about this program can be found here.
