Thompson Egbo-Egbo Foundation

What: Poetry in Sound and Motion
Where: Jane/Finch
When: Fall 2008

Poetry in Sound and Motion is a 16 week intensive music camp for children at Firgrove Public School, in the Jane/Finch neighbourhood, directed by Thompson Egbo-Egbo. Rhythm, lyrics, memorisation, performance and the music video are explored and the skills learned are put on display in a small concert for the public. This project was documented in a film, Listen to This, with its world premiere at the 2010 edition of Hot Docs. Arts in the Hood is proud to have been the driving force behind this project and believe this work illustrates why we must continue to make the arts a natural part of young people's lives.
