The fifth annual installment of Scotiabank Nuit Blanche is starting to come together with today’s announcement of the principle zone curators (left to right) Gerald McMaster, Sarah Robayo Sheridan, Anthony Kiendl and Christof Migone. Forty contemporary art projects will be featured — 25 commissioned works and 15 additional projects selected through an open call — for the one-night event taking place all night long October 2 beginning at 7 pm.

McMaster will curate a Yorkville zone called “The Good Night” including works by French artist Agnes Winter and New York digital artists The Open Ended Group. Robayo Sheridan’s downtown east zone is titled “The Night of Future Past” and features the U.K.’s Ryan Gander and Toronto’s Darren O’Donnell, among others, and Kiendl’s west side zone, “Sound and Vision”, boasts collaborative work by Leah Singer and Lee Ranaldo (Sonic Youth) and a new work by American conceptual artist Dan Graham. Migone’s financial district zone is dubbed “Should I Stay or Should I Go” and explores concepts of movement, mobility and gridlock. In addition to the 40 works above, another 100 independent projects will spill out across the city. Bookmark the Nuit Blanche website to stay on top of news as it unfolds throughout the summer.
